  Why is it that such a piece of witty literature has met so little echo within JWD/N ?

  Sincere congratulations, Farkel, you are a very good writer.

  But, as for me, I've made this earthly paradise hope mine for 30 years and I 'm not going to abandon it, despite your valuable arguments. The reason is that I have no fall back solution. I haven't got a clue about what heavenly life looks like, so I need to feel some sound ground under my feet for the 20 years or so I have -hopefully-left. We'll see, in the end, who is right/wrong, unless we just see nothing at all, which is another plausible possibility...

  my jw in laws send us these types of emails every once in a while .

  never is there any real personal correspondence from them and it irritates me.

  i have sent emails back before critiquing the logic of some of their emails.. i will be sending a response to this latest one ,and i would appreciate some ideas .. i know many of you on this forum are so excellant with your words i would enjoy your input .. the first thing that came to my mind after i read the illustration was "i am so glad i am no longer on the endless tread mill of witness logic that has you running forever from scary imaginary spirit beings ".

  I would answer : I can see your point and you're probably right, but what next ? are you trying to say that the WTS is interested in helping me escape from the fox ? I'm afraid this is where we start differring, the WTS couldn't care less about me, they work at preserving their stakes in this "system of things" and to their own survival from collapse, not mine.

  Thanks Blondie, for your research work. Within the latest 18 months or so, it is the second WT article about telling the truth which in fact is just written for the purpose of requiring JWs NOT to tell the truth on the ground of theocratic war. This insistence makes me think that the WTS has a lot to hide and that there are probably misgivings on the part of some people within the organisation about that policy, at a level in the hierarchy which worries the top decision makers.

  what apostate info was around in early 80's?

  a jw i know i very fond of telling people that he read apostate stuff in the early 80's and that when he later came into the turth it was proved to him that it was all lies ( the apostate info that is).

  i've always wondered what it was he read, and how it could have been refuted by the dubs?.

  and no, i've got no way of asking him, not without landing myself in hot water.

  In the late seventies in London, I remember a pioneer sister having mentioned to me, in hushed voice, that there was an apostate book called "escaped from the tower", written by a former JW. I wonder if she was referring to Shnell's book, since I've never heard about that book again.

  one bottle contains 0.75 liter

  one Magnum equals 2 bottles, ie 1.5 liter

  one Jeroboam equals 4 bottles that is 3 liters

  after that you're drunk, you can't count anymore

  today is kim clijsters' birthday and a month ago she announced her retirement from tennis.

  i remember the week she was born very well.

  i have watched tennis since the late '70s, and i remember when billie jean king was a star, when jimmy connors was a hot new thing, and when "virginia slims" matches were shown on wtbs.

  i re-read it after someone posted to it and brought it back on active topics and it was kind of prophetic in a way ... well, i had the 5 years part right if nothing else:.

  it would be nice to visit the site (or whatever one is around then) in 5 years time to let people know how we're doing and find only a few of the same people still around.

  Thanks once again for keeping this site running and even more so that it seems you thought several times of stopping it.

  I agree very much with your opinion in part n° 4 that you can't remain an ex JW for your whole life. True, you know you are healed once you have gone beyond bitterness and resentment and a positive sign of this healing is the fact that the support site looks no longer so interesting. Just a natural process, nothing to do with the quality of JWD. I must admit that since I stopped attending meetings altogether about 2 months ago, I've found it much more difficult to bring into JWD JW- related threads or just posts (already not plenty), as if fading from JWD was part of leaving the organisation behind for good. Thanks anyway to all those who share their personal experiences and those who feed the site with insider WTS news, many are here to show fresh interest in the matter, which testifies for the site's usefulness.

  In Paris, flying over the intra muros city is forbidden, apart from exceptional events such as the Bastille day parade, for the French AF, or film shootings, due to confined air space. Don't they do the same in NY ? So sad.
